A red bar has appeared at the bottom of my photograph and I cannot insert it in a photo album or calendar.
What does this mean?
To ensure a high print quality, we include a quality check which compares the resolution of each photograph with the frame size and print quality. A red bar at the bottom of a photograph means that its resolution is too low for a high quality. We suggest that you set your camera to a higher resolution.
Will the frame be printed if I don't place any text or photograph in it?
Photographs and text frames are not printed on the background if the frame does not contain a photograph or text.
How does 'Cropping' in the 'Edit photograph' box work?
If you double-click a photograph it will be displayed larger, in a box with a number of editing options on the left, e.g. contrast, flip, crop, red eye reduction, etc. If you click 'Crop' a frame appears, with the size and aspect ratio of the frame in which you want to insert the photograph. The aspect ratio (length : width) of the frame is fixed and cannot be changed. However, you can make the frame larger or smaller to include a larger or smaller crop of your photograph. Please note that you have reached the maximum frame size when the top and bottom of the frame touch the edges of the photograph. Once the frame is the right size you click 'Apply'. When the 'Apply' button changes to 'OK' your photograph has been cropped. Click 'OK' to insert the cropped photograph on the page. Note: you cannot undo a cropping operation. If you don't like the crop you have to start again with the photograph
Can I change the selected album size?
The type of album and the number of pages are selected at the start of the editing process. Unfortunately it is not possible to change these choices later.
What does 'double-sided printing' mean?
In the second window of the Assistant you can choose from the different types of photo album and calendar. The 'Double-sided printing' option is displayed at the bottom of the list. The default for photo albums is double-sided printing. This means that both the front and the back of each sheet in your photo album will be printed. If you click the 'Double-sided printing' box the tick mark will disappear and your product will be printed single-sided. In this case your photographs and text will only be printed on the right-hand pages of the photo album.
Can I change double-sided printing and the number of pages later?
Double or single-sided printing and the number of pages are selected at the start of the editing process. Unfortunately it is not possible to change these choices later. However, you could simply leave the odd-numbered (left-hand) pages blank. This will make your photo album look like it is printed single-sided.
Why can't I change or move the pages in the calendar styles?
To calendar layouts are all fixed to prevent problems with the wrong order or the wrong number of days per month in the calendars.
How can I download new page styles?
Click 'Download styles' in the opening screen of the Assistant. The first page includes a link to our web site where you can view the styles. If you decide not to go to the web site but click 'Next' instead, then a list will be displayed of the styles which can be downloaded for each photo album or calendar. Left-click the style to be downloaded and then click 'Finish'. The download and installation may take some time. Please do not interrupt this process! The newly downloaded styles will be added automatically to your standard styles. The styles are now available for use.
How can I save a photo album or calendar?
You can only save a photo album or calendar if you have inserted at least one photograph or caption in it. The product will be saved automatically when you close the program. You can also save a product by clicking the 'Save' button on the left of the menu. The document will be saved in directory C:/Program Files/AlbumEditor/MyAlbums.
I get an error message 'Insufficient graphics resources'. What should I do?
You are probably using an old version of Windows.
Please restart your computer and try again.
If it still doesn't work we suggest upgrading to a newer version of Windows.
